Idbäcken

When it comes to the beauty of northern Sweden, nothing else comes close. Welcome to Idbäcken and Rusksele, two virtually connected villages along Vindelälven. Not only do these villages contain a store, public sauna and 240 proud inhabitants, it also contains a large part of Elina's extended family and childhood memories.

Elina + Josua = festival

We want to give our guests time to fully enjoy the nature of Idbäcken and the company of each other. Therefore we hope to make this wedding feel like a festival. The majority of the celebrations will be outside. The wedding ceremony will be on the banks of the river Vindelälven, and the feast in traditional tepees. There will be bonfires and games. We suggest you don't bring your finest suit or dress, but instead bring an extra sweater and jacket.

Housing

Apart from the nature, the best thing with Idbäcken is its culture of helping each other out. There are multiple options for housing for our guests, from sleeping on the floor in nearby chapels to homes of families from the village to camping oppurtunities. All housing is within walking distance from the main site (at least by Swedish standards ;)). The housing provided is relatively simple, but we recommend you skip the long line for the few available showers and instead take a swim in the river. If you wish for housing during the wedding, let us know in the RSVP.

Journey

We are planning on booking a coach on the night train from Stockholm to Umeå for everyone who wants to travel sustainably! Let the party start on the platform in Stockholm. A private bus meets the travellers in Umeå and drives them to the site of the wedding Idbäcken.

Let us know in the RSVP if you want to travel this way, and we will deal with the booking. That way we can get a better price and conditions for the tickets.

Every compartment has space for six travelers. We will delegate the seats in the best way we can think of.

We only book the trip to the wedding. The return trip is booked by you. We strongly recommend, however, that you spend some days to just enjoy northern Sweden. The bus journey is round-trip from Umeå to Idbäcken.

Preliminary times:

Departure: Stockholm C: 21:55, Thursday 6:th of august.

Arrival: Umeå C: 07:11, Friday 7;th of august.

Then a 2 hour busride from Umeå to Idbäcken. Arrival in Idbäcken Friday around 10. Exact times will be published in a few months.
